That was pretty mind blowing. I've known about the dangers of HFCS and read a bit about why it exists (because it's easy to grow corn) but this was apparently only the tip of the iceberg.

That said, another lens which was touched on in the second post was while this is all true - one could become obsessed with the corn theory and view everything through it. Experience great confirmation bias and so on. I'm sure we have all interacted with people who have fallen into traps like this regarding topics other than corn.
